ABOUT US

The directional goal for Highland is that we gather, grow, and go for God’s glory.

Our hope is that these words will keep our church focused on what really matters. When a church doesn’t have a direction, it can go anywhere. We want to be a focused people -- keeping our lives set on the things that truly matter in God’s Kingdom.

GATHER

We believe the people of God should come together to joyfully worship and to hear God’s Word clearly and unapologetically proclaimed.

Since Acts 2, Christians have gathered. Scripture is full of examples of people coming together to worship in an assembled setting.

“Let us exalt His name together,” “all the Believers had gathered,”

“Let us not give up in meeting together.”

GROW

We believe that Christ-followers should grow, allowing our faith to mature as we develop into devoted disciples and faithful disciple-makers.

We are committed to growing in our faith, our knowledge, and our practice. To grow means we are active in studying God’s Word, growing as disciples of Jesus, giving financially to the church, and deepening our faith. We want our “roots to grow deep into Jesus.”

We encourage every believer to be a part of either an Adult Bible Fellowship Class on Sunday mornings, or a Connection Group during the week.

GO

We believe every believer should serve. This means everyone in the church uses their spiritual gifts to serve one another, the lost, the city, the world, and ultimately Jesus.

The end result of gathering and growing is our service, our life on mission, and our involvement in our local church. When we go, serve, and participate in the vision and the heart of the church, then we know that we are truly maturing in our faith in Christ. The “going” element is the goal of the process. “You should produce much fruit and show that you are My followers, which brings glory to My Father. You did not choose Me; I chose you. And I gave you this work: to go and produce fruit, fruit that will last.”

Highland has a strategy that reaches the neighborhood and the nations.
